Packaged units are the most common type found in commercial buildings (usually housed up on the roof). However, these systems are sometimes useful for homes, especially when there isn\u2019t sufficient room indoors for the evaporator. We\u2019ll help you discover if a packaged unit is a good option for your home.<\/p>\n<h3>Ductless mini split systems<\/h3>\n<p>If you want to forgo ductwork entirely (often as part of a home remodel), then you should consider a <a href=\"\/air-conditioning\/ductless-mini-split-systems\">ductless mini split<\/a>. These comfort systems have both indoor and outdoor components, like standard split systems, but instead of a single indoor unit they use multiple smaller air handlers mounted in different rooms. The air handlers send cooled air straight into the living spaces, removing the need for ducts.<\/p>\n<h3>A new condenser unit<\/h3>\n<p>If the <a href=\"\/air-conditioning\/condensing-unit\">outdoor condenser unit<\/a> in your air conditioner is starting to fail, then you might consider having just it replaced rather than the entire air conditioning system.
