Purl’s Helped at the Alegria Guild Annual “Day in the Country” Event

Friday, October 25th, 2019

This year, Purl’s was proud to volunteer at the Alegria Guild’s annual “Day in the Country” event. The Alegria Guild represents Madera County, and its members are made up of a diverse group of women who share in common a love for children. The annual “Day in the Country” is a women’s luncheon that’s great for gathering with friends and family to support Valley Children’s Healthcare.

This year’s event was held on October 5 and included the guild’s famous baked goods sale, box office raffle, door prizes, silent auction, and shopping at the Artisan Faire. Our Purl’s volunteers donated a handcrafted entertainment station for the event. We are always excited to support the Alegria Guild and Valley Children’s Hospital.

We’ve been a part of the local community for more than 65 years, and everyone at Purl’s is proud to support our future community leaders and achievers. This September, we got involved in supporting the 4-H and FFA children at the Madera Fair. Each year, the kids from FFA (formerly Future Farmers of America) and 4-H (administered by the US Department of Agriculture to develop citizenship, leadership, responsibility, and life skills of youth) hold a hot dog dinner.

We had a great night cooking hot dogs with the kids. It was a fantastic group! Thanks to Sheryl Berry for organizing and keeping us on track. We hope to keep this partnership and tradition going strong.

Furnace-standardOne of the most important jobs we do as an HVAC company in Fresno, CA is help customers prepare for extreme weather. In the fall, we inspect and tune-up residential furnaces and other heating systems so they’re ready for the arrival of winter weather. Nobody wants their cozy indoor comfort interrupted during a chilly winter day, after all.

If you’re not currently signed up for our Ultimate Service Agreement, now is the right time to join. This agreement provides you with two annual maintenance tune-ups and inspections for your home—and we’ll start with the one for your heating system.

Don’t Push Your AC Over Its Limits!

Thursday, October 3rd, 2019

hand-setting-thermostatYou want to avoid HVAC repair in Fresno, CA as much as possible. Even though fall has now officially arrived, the Central Valley is still experiencing blistering hot days that can reach the 90s. Your home’s air conditioning system has hard work ahead, and if you aren’t cautious about running it, you may drive it into the ground and cause an expensive repair or replacement.

Your air conditioner has limits. For example, the AC can’t lower the temperature in your house to the point where water would freeze. (Not that you would want to.) To help you know how best to keep your cooling system running in good shape at the end of the season, we’re going to look at your central air conditioner’s cooling limits.
